Yoshiro hasn't become the spirit stone yet when Soh purifies her.
Because Soh is the final part of her that becomes defiled in order for her to become the spirit stone, hence why Cursed Soh is definitely previous Yoshiro. The two are one being playing two roles.
Possible Correction:
She hasn't because she hasn't absorbed the final defilement which is Soh's Spirit Stone. That completes it.
The faces are slightly different. Eyebrows and eyes. Soh is more feline/fox, Yoshiro more deer/rabbit. Soh's nose is smaller. And her lips.
Then again, Soh means ancestor.
I still think they're the same being, split into two. But our double/soul doesn't necessarily have to look exactly like us.
When Soh purges defilement from herself/the former Yoshiro, it is Yoshiro who ascends to being a goddess. I'm now certain I was right. Soh is Yoshiro's soul.
Reminds me of the Double in Castenada, and the idea of the soul as the eternal friend who is both an other and you.
The soul also leads the mind and body, much like how Soh guides and leads Yoshiro through the spirit path.
After Soh purifies herself and ascends to divinity, as according to the scrolls, the headdress is the one Yoshiro wears but the hair is similar to Soh's. Yoshiro + Soh =One.
(Soh's pink eyeshadow is there as well, lol)
Explains why Yoshiro was purified as well.
Kunitsu-Gami feels like a sister narrative to Sekiro.
Serving being considered a path to divinity, with Soh becoming a goddess and Wolf bearing similarities to the Sakura Dragon. (there's a hint in the names, Okami(Wolf and Great God).
Or rather, serving is part of the path.
Both Soh and Wolf serve a 'miko'. (Kanji is different, of course. Both are barefooted, too.)
