I just realized the scrolls tell the story of the True Ending. Phantom Paths represents two paths Soh could take, one being compliance. Then there's this beautiful scroll.
I wondered why this is part of the 'story' but this might be Soh's desire to end the cycle.
After all, there must be a catalyst for why Cursed Soh emerges in this particular cycle(True Ending) as the normal ending shows our Yoshiro becoming the next Soh. Kunitsu-Gami is 'Soh's journey' so it's directly related to her.
