This is shown before you head into NG+ for the first time.
But what broke the cycle?
Kunitsu-Gami is called 'Soh's journey' and things are mentioned in relation to Soh. For example, the carpenter is described as 'The carpenter Soh met', ignoring Yoshiro was there as well.
There are only two FMVs(Full Motion Videos) in Kunitsu-Gami. The opening, the Normal Ending...and the scene of Soh rewinding time. Not even the True Ending is an FMV.
So, did Soh rewind time to try and save Yoshiro?
What were the constants? Was it our Soh playing the role of Soh every cycle? Because in the normal ending, our Yoshiro inherits Soh's mask. The Maiden inherits the mask of the Messenger and becomes the next Messenger. (implied)
Does this imply...Soh in NG+ is our Yoshiro and Cursed Soh is actually NG Soh who went through the cycle 7 times?
Am I wrong about it being 7 Maidens?
Perhaps it's implied by the we play through the game 9 times as the same Soh? But that doesn't make sense either...
