Browsing for Kunitsu-Gami images and seeing Soh being tagged as a boy when she looks like this

the tiny waist and breasts? |
Some Kunitsu-Gami fanart is cute but I don't personally like most of them.
Drawing Soh to have the body of a man is questionable when she's always had a feminine figure, even in-game. She also has long hair so if you're drawing her head without her mask covering it, it's going to look like Yoshiro's.
Drawing Yoshiro with huge breasts is also questionable. There are a million busty female characters. Yoshiro doesn't need to be one. (Soh is also the busty one so...) And she has Hazel-Green eyes! Green!
I understand some people are obsessed with hypersexualization and hypergendering, both ways. The idea that if a woman isn't actively being sexual, exposing herself or exhibiting gendered behavior, then is she really a woman? Or calling it defying gender roles because she's...covered? Things like that. They don't interest me.
I want to point out that Messenger is a role. Soh is playing a role of the Messenger that succeeds the Maiden so it isn't accurate to claim she defies gender roles when this is the progression of the Maiden's role (One can say it's hinting at how cycles are perpetuated by those before us leading us down the same path they once walked...)
They/them has been a way to refer to people for a long time if you wish to hide their identity. I still refer to any friend this way when talking about them. It's obvious they Samus'd us. (Or it's about her being a Spirit Shrine since I wrote this a long time ago)
Soh is alike to a nun mixed with divine knight. She's a (former) Maiden who walked the path of a Goddess and is hinted at being a Goddess alongside Yoshiro.
I thought of Joan of Arc now. Didn't she dress like a man and take up arms? (Totally different blademaiden...)
Joan referred to herself in the letters as Jeanne la Pucelle ("Joan the Maiden") or as la Pucelle ("the Maiden"), emphasizing her virginity, and she signed "Jehanne".
Shout out to Joan, a Maiden in armor.
I wouldn't say Soh is dressed like a man either. Those colors, the silhouette, the beautiful flowers, the chiffon... The choker. The small waist and how the design flares out by the hips.
I hate to say it but I'm glad this game isn't too popular. It would be ruined by the masses and distorted.
Or you could even say...it would be defiled...
