The villagers have this on their heads when they're cocooned.

Soh's Spirit State.
Soh has the same mark when her ability to use the mask's full power is taken from her.
Ten mentioned '呪' can be seen on her breastplate.

Possibly a very stylized version of it? Definitely seems like it.
This symbol occurs again on the Torii gates but it changes.

First symbol. 'Cursed' |

Both symbols can be seen in:

I think it marks the 'Path' through which Yoshiro travels and her becoming merged with the Goddess but why does the Cursed symbol still appear in later stages if Yoshiro is meant to be transforming?
To me, it looks like a moon and sun. I know that the red circle is the sun.

Possibly relevant? |
If the Goddess and purification is associated with the sun, then becoming impure can be seen as living in the night, so the moon symbol is used?
But why show it on purified Torii gates?
I decided to check Crab's theory since I recall him mentioning symbols.
Crab theory mentions sun/moon too, and the gates, saying:
On another note, the "shinpaku" (a sacred scroll) attached to the torii gate of a shrine has different characters written on the front and back. Usually, the name of the god or the name of the shrine is written on it, but this one looks like it has the characters for "moon" and "sun" written on it in the "Kamiyo" style.
Soh and Yoshiro who walk through the center of the approach to the shrine and draw the spirit path or dance through it, are treated as gods (the center of the approach to the shrine is the path of the gods).

In the home screen, we see the top hollows are no longer joined with the bottom lines and stand separate.
Are the Maiden and Goddess now separated?
Oh, it's on the Carpenter!
I noticed this symbol beneath Yoshiro:
Appears on lanterns, too.
The magatama representing the Maiden has merged with Sword representing Soh!
The Cocoon villagers look different when they fall in battle:
In the battle with Nanamagari:
An extra thing that somehow feels relevant:
Her shoes are different colors on the sides.
But in artwork and scrolls, she has both red.
In the artbook, I spotted the symbols here:

The basin in the game doesn't have it though |

On the big Seethe:
But this pattern I also noticed on the everyday villagers.
However, I didn't bother much with it...until I saw Ten's latest post mentioning that Soh's mask also has the faint lines of the impurity pattern.
I hadn't even noticed it was the same pattern!
Is it hinting at the Goddess harboring impurity?(Cursed Soh)
It's on the cushion of the Mazo Talismans.
The big Seethe's clothes:
The smaller Seethe's body:
EDIT:
Ten made a post on the symbols! What a surprise we ended up looking at the same things around the same time! (or I think so...) After seeing this post, I added some more places the symbol is seen in-game.

It has some great information! Lots more things I didn't notice myself! So when Soh loses her body, her power has been briefly sealed... There's a mazo talisman to speed up recovery called 'Astral Projection'. I wonder why that name?
But something in particular caught my eye after checking for myself.
When Yoshiro is attacked, the 'curse' symbol is seen.
But when Cursed Soh attacks her, a different symbol is seen:
I wonder why...
I thought it's the symbol from the lantern? or half of it. And it's the one she stands on in the beginning.
But upon darkening it, look:
2 horns on the bottom with a cut near the end is on the bottom curve.
The curve reminds me of Nanamagari's name, 'seven curves'.
I checked another clip of Cursed Soh attack Yoshiro:
It's faint here.
Cursed Soh will always kill her with Taion's Lightning so we see the symbol only once.
